Stone surfaces

Polished
. This surface is very smooth and not porous. The reflectively of polished crystals brings out the brilliant colours and grains of natural stone. The shine comes from the natural reflection of the stone’s crystals.

Honed.
Provides a flat to low sheen gloss. Different levels of gloss can be selected. This surface is very smooth, but often very porous. Honed stone colors are not as vibrant as polished stone.

Sandblasted.
This surface is the result of a pressurised flow of sand water that provides a textured surface with a matt gloss.

Patterned.
Patterns are sandblasted and sealed with a transparent resin. The engraved parts of the patterns are usually painted or sometimes gilded with gold or silver leaves.

Inlay.
This technique allows us to inlay paua shells and other materials into the stone sealed with the transparent resin. This complicated procedure requires extensive knowledge and machinery.

Stone reinforcement
div style=”text-align: justify;”>Reinforcement is one of our points of difference: After creating the sink or hob cutouts, we reinforce the area with fibreglass providing the necessary support and strength to the slab. Reinforcement is usually used when a piece left by the cut-out is less than 100 mm.
